DOUG ANDERSON

Ceramic Sculpture has been my life long passion. After graduating from San Jose State University with my BFA in Ceramics, I opened my first Studio in San Francisco, and have operated and maintained one here for 40+ years.

I’ve participated and exhibited at numerous Juried Art Shows, and have been showcased and collected by Private Collectors, Galleries and Museums. My career has allowed me to travel and work internationally, including a 15 year tenure as Head of the Design department for a major ceramics manufacturer based in Hong Kong.

For the past five years, I’ve been focused on creating my new lines of Cabochon Cookie Jars, Butter Dishes and Rhyton mugs, while also making my one-of-a kind Chess Sets, Teapots and Cookie Jars. I’ve always been drawn to ceramics, because I feel like the medium offers endless possibilities. My favorite reaction and compliment I can receive from people, is for them to smile and laugh when they see my work.
